Wenn das neue Jahr um Mitternacht eingeläutet wird ,strahlt die Welt mit neuer Hoffnung. 

Möge eines Tages ein strahlenderer Morgen anbrechen ,an dem alle Menschen in Frieden und Wahrheit  sich nicht über das Vergehen der Zeit freuen, sondern über eine Welt, die durch Liebe verwandelt wurde.

Dankbarkeit für die Zeit bei MOD21

Bei MOD21 durfte ich zunächst als Projektleiter und später als Technischer Leiter Verantwortung übernehmen und den Holzmodulbau in anspruchsvollen Bauprojekten aktiv mitgestalten.  Die Kombination aus nachhaltigem Bauen, innovativen Konzepten und einem engagierten Team hat meinen beruflichen Weg entscheidend geprägt und mir wertvolle Einblicke in moderne Bau- und Projektstrukturen ermöglicht.

In dieser Zeit konnte ich nicht nur fachlich wachsen, sondern auch gemeinsam mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen Lösungen für komplexe Projekte entwickeln und zur weiteren Professionalisierung der Abläufe beitragen.  Für das Vertrauen, die Zusammenarbeit und die vielen gemeinsamen Momente möchte ich mich ausdrücklich bei meinen Teams, Vorgesetzten, Partnern und Kunden bedanken.

Der richtige Zeitpunkt für Veränderung

Jede berufliche Reise hat Stationen, an denen es wichtig ist, innezuhalten, das Erreichte wertzuschätzen und sich bewusst neu auszurichten.  Für mich ist jetzt der Punkt erreicht, an dem ich mich neuen Aufgaben stellen und meine Erfahrungen in einem anderen Umfeld einbringen möchte.

Diese Entscheidung ist mit großem Respekt vor dem Geleisteten und den Menschen bei MOD21 getroffen worden.  Gleichzeitig überwiegt die Vorfreude auf das, was kommt – mit dem klaren Wunsch, Verantwortung zu übernehmen, Strukturen weiterzuentwickeln und in einem spannenden Kontext an der Schnittstelle von Bau, Technik und Betrieb zu arbeiten.

Neue Aufgabe bei der Messe Friedrichshafen

Umso mehr freue ich mich, künftig bei der Messe Friedrichshafen als Leiter Gebäude und Haustechnik tätig zu sein.  Das Messegelände mit seinen vielfältig nutzbaren Hallen, Veranstaltungsflächen und technischen Infrastrukturen bietet ein anspruchsvolles Umfeld, in dem Bau, Haustechnik und Betrieb eng ineinandergreifen.

Gratitude for my time at MOD21

At MOD21, I was able to take on responsibility first as a project manager and later as technical manager, actively helping to shape timber module construction in challenging building projects. The combination of sustainable construction, innovative concepts and a dedicated team has had a decisive influence on my professional career and given me valuable insights into modern construction and project structures.

During this time, I was not only able to grow professionally, but also to develop solutions for complex projects together with colleagues and contribute to the further professionalisation of processes. I would like to express my sincere thanks to my teams, supervisors, partners and customers for their trust, cooperation and the many moments we shared.

Every professional journey has stages where it is important to pause, appreciate what has been achieved and consciously realign oneself. For me, I have now reached the point where I want to take on new challenges and contribute my experience in a different environment.

This decision has been made with great respect for the achievements and the people at MOD21. At the same time, my anticipation for what lies ahead prevails – with a clear desire to take on responsibility, further develop structures and work in an exciting context at the interface of construction, technology and operations.

New role at Messe Friedrichshafen

I am therefore all the more delighted to be joining Messe Friedrichshafen as Head of Buildings and Building Services. The exhibition centre, with its versatile halls, event spaces and technical infrastructure, offers a challenging environment in which construction, building services and operations are closely intertwined.

When Sport Becomes a Stage for Protest – The Sad Blockades at the 2025 Vuelta a España

The 2025 Vuelta a España cycling race has become a stark example of how major sporting events, which traditionally unite people, can be overshadowed and disrupted by political conflicts — to the detriment of athletes, fans, and the spirit of sport itself[1][2].

Throughout the race, and particularly on the final stage in Madrid, pro-Palestinian demonstrators repeatedly blocked sections of the course. In the last stage, about 100 protesters carrying Palestinian flags and banners stood on the route, forcing peloton members to stop with around 58 km remaining. The stage was ultimately canceled, denying the race organizers the possibility of a podium ceremony[1][3][6][7].

Prior to this, other stages had been shortened or modified due to security concerns. Organizers faced difficulties securing the extensive rural and urban routes, with some towns seeing large crowds disrupting the race[4][5]. Police presence was significantly increased, with over 1,500 officers deployed to ensure safety, yet complete security proved impossible[6].

The Controversy Around Israel-Premier Tech

Central to the protests was the presence of the Israel-Premier Tech team. The Israeli-Canadian businessman Sylvan Adams owns the team, which aims to promote Israel positively through international sports[2]. Protesters viewed the team’s presence as a symbol of Israel amid its military operations in Gaza, and demanded its exclusion from the race, drawing parallels to bans on Russian teams due to the Ukraine war[2].

The majority of the protests were peaceful, yet some disruptions were aggressive enough to cause crashes and security risks. The team removed “Israel” from their jerseys during the race to reduce tensions[2][6]. Despite calls from some racers to withdraw for safety, the team chose to continue[2][5].

Discrimination Against the Team

A troubling dimension of this controversy is the discrimination faced by Israel-Premier Tech solely based on its name. The team, its owners, and sponsors have no direct involvement in the Gaza conflict, yet were targeted because their name represents Israel—a symbol rather than actors in the conflict[8][9].

The sponsors like Premier Tech, a Canadian packaging machinery company, are not politically linked to the situation. Yet, the team endured accusations and threats, leading to heightened security measures and even removal of identifying labels to protect the athletes[10][11].

This selective targeting highlights how factual context often becomes irrelevant when political symbolism dominates, affecting the integrity of sport and the safety of those involved[8][12].

Reflection: The Balance Between Protest and Sport

While protests and freedom of expression are pillars of democratic societies, using major sporting events to stage disruptive political demonstrations risks undermining sport’s fundamental values: fair competition, unity, and shared celebration.

The 2025 Vuelta’s turmoil underscores the urgent need to protect sporting events from becoming arenas for political strife that harm athletes and fans alike. Sport should serve as a neutral ground that brings people together rather than divides them.

Am Ostersonntag 2025 begab ich mich auf eine ganz besondere Wanderung: Von Deggenhausen aus führte mich der Premiumwanderweg „Bergtour Höchsten“ durch die erwachende Frühlingslandschaft des Deggenhausertals. Die Gemeinde Deggenhausertal hatte sich für die Osterzeit etwas Besonderes einfallen lassen: Entlang des Weges waren mehrere liebevoll gestaltete Holz-Osterhasen versteckt, die es zu entdecken galt.

Der Weg: Naturgenuss und Panoramablicke

Die „Bergtour Höchsten“ ist ein zertifizierter Premiumwanderweg, der auf etwa 16,6 Kilometern durch abwechslungsreiche Landschaften führt. Startpunkt ist der Wanderparkplatz Saalach in Deggenhausen. Von dort aus geht es über sanfte Hügel, durch Wälder und über offene Wiesen hinauf zum Höchsten, dem höchsten Punkt im Linzgau mit beeindruckenden 838 Metern. Bei klarer Sicht bietet sich hier ein atemberaubender Blick über den Bodensee bis zu den Alpen.

Der Weg ist gut ausgeschildert und bietet zahlreiche Rastmöglichkeiten, darunter eine Entspannungsliege am Waldrand kurz vor dem Gipfel. Die Strecke ist mittelschwer und erfordert eine gute Grundkondition, belohnt jedoch mit vielfältigen Eindrücken und Naturerlebnissen.

Osterüberraschungen entlang des Weges

Besonders spannend wurde die Wanderung durch die Osteraktion der Gemeinde Deggenhausertal. Entlang des Weges waren fünf große Holz-Osterhasen versteckt, die es zu finden galt. Die Idee: Wanderer sollten ein Selfie mit einem der Hasen machen und dieses zusammen mit ihrem Namen und ihrer Adresse an die Tourist-Info der Gemeinde senden. Unter allen Einsendungen wurden attraktive Preise verlost.

Fazit: Ein gelungenes Ostererlebnis

Die Kombination aus sportlicher Betätigung, Naturgenuss und der liebevoll gestalteten Osteraktion machte die Wanderung zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Die Gemeinde Deggenhausertal hat mit dieser Idee gezeigt, wie man Tradition und Bewegung auf kreative Weise verbinden kann. Ich kann diese Tour jedem empfehlen, der die Schönheit des Deggenhausertals erleben und dabei noch ein wenig Osterfreude genießen möchte.

Heute führte unsere Wanderung über den beeindruckenden HochAlbPfad bei Hossingen – ein abwechslungsreicher Rundweg, der Naturerlebnis, geologische Highlights und spirituelle Impulse miteinander verbindet. Der erste Abschnitt führte uns durch den idyllischen Gräbelesweg, einen schmalen Pfad entlang dichter Buchenwälder und moosbedeckter Steine. Das leise Rauschen des Windes und das Zwitschern der Vögel begleiteten uns auf dem Weg durch die typische Alblandschaft. Besonders eindrucksvoll war die Ruhe dieses Waldabschnitts, die zum bewussten Gehen und Innehalten einlud.

Ein Highlight der Tour war das Karstloch, eine faszinierende Höhle mitten im Wald. Der Eingang öffnete sich wie ein Tor in eine andere Welt – feucht, kühl und geheimnisvoll. Der Blick in das tiefe Loch und die Geschichten über seine Entstehung durch Auswaschungen im Kalkstein vermittelten eindrucksvoll, wie lebendig die Erdgeschichte hier auf der Schwäbischen Alb zu spüren ist. Einige Mutige wagten sogar einen vorsichtigen Blick in den dunklen Schlund – ein echtes Abenteuer!

Zum Abschluss wanderten wir entlang des AlbTaufWegs, einem spirituell gestalteten Weg, der verschiedene Stationen mit Texten, Kunst und Impulsen bietet. Das Thema „Taufe“ zog sich symbolisch durch den Pfad und regte zum Nachdenken an – über Aufbruch, Reinigung und Neubeginn. Besonders berührend war der kleine Wasserlauf am Ende des Weges, der leise über die Steine plätscherte – ein perfekter Ort für eine Pause und stille Einkehr. Ein rundum gelungener Wandertag auf der Hochalb mit vielen besonderen Momenten.

Effiziente Umsetzung dank Modulbauweise

Die Entscheidung für die Modulbauweise erwies sich als goldrichtig. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit konnten die neuen Räume bezugsfertig errichtet werden, ohne den laufenden Schulbetrieb wesentlich zu beeinträchtigen. Diese Bauweise ermöglicht nicht nur eine schnelle Fertigstellung, sondern auch eine hohe Flexibilität und Nachhaltigkeit.

Ein starkes Team hinter dem Erfolg

Der erfolgreiche Abschluss dieses Projekts war nur durch die enge Zusammenarbeit aller Beteiligten möglich. Mein Dank gilt dem gesamten Team der MOD21 GmbH sowie den Partnern und Handwerkern, die mit ihrer Expertise und ihrem Engagement dieses Projekt in Rekordzeit realisiert haben.

The bike portion of the T100 Triathlon is not for the faint of heart. Spanning a challenging 80 kilometers, this segment takes athletes through the picturesque yet demanding terrain surrounding the city of Henderson.

As participants pedal through the undulating hills, they will encounter significant elevation changes, with of approximately 1400 high meters. The course winds its way through the stunning Nevada landscape, offering riders breathtaking views as they ascend and descend the steep terrains.

Cyclists must embrace the challenges presented by the course, which is known for its diverse conditions—ranging from sun-drenched stretches to short, shaded portions under mature trees. It’s essential for participants to strategize their pacing to tackle the climbs effectively. Each hill tests aerobic capacity and leg strength while the descents allow for brief moments of recovery. For many, this part of the race represents a true test of endurance and determination as they ride not only against the clock but also against the rugged artwork of nature.

As athletes brave the elements, including possible winds that sweep across the desert, camaraderie unfolds on the roads as cyclists encourage one another to push through the fatigue. It’s this electric atmosphere, combined with the stunning scenery of mountains and valleys, that makes the bike leg of the T100 a memorable experience.

Running Through Paradise: The Scenic Course at Reflection Bay Golf Club

After conquering the demanding bike segment, participants transition to the running portion of the T100 Triathlon. The run takes athletes over a path lined with stunning views of the Reflection Bay Golf Course. Encompassing about

18 kilometers, the route weaves through a beautifully manicured landscape that contrasts with the ruggedness of the bike course.

Runners are greeted by a spectacular environment filled with colorful landscapes, rolling greens, and the picturesque backdrop of the lake.

The Reflection Bay Golf Course provides a unique running experience, offering both flat stretches and rolling hills that test participants’ stamina.

The tranquility of the area allows athletes to absorb their surroundings, and the shimmering waters of Lake Las Vegas glimmer invitingly as the race progresses.

The final stretch of the run leads participants to the grand finish line set against the stunning backdrop of The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa. As athletes approach the finish, a sense of exhilaration washes over them, fueled by the sight of cheering spectators gathered to celebrate their achievements.

The joyous atmosphere enhances the emotions of triumph and relief as participants cross the finish line, culminating their journey through the triathlon with a memorable moment of achievement and personal victory.
